In an effort to expand the use of OpenVMS the OpenVMS Community has created a program within which projects will be defined, designed, developed and implemented assist in this effort. The program is multi-faceted. It will address marketing, technology, education, cooperation and publicity. It is an effort to focus all the knowledge, skill, power and energy of the OpenVMS Community together in one place to expand the business for OpenVMS oriented businesses (HP, HP Partners, ISVs, VARs, consultants, service providers), to increase development for the OpenVMS environment, and to expand the use of OpenVMS in academic environments world wide.This program consists of many projects.

All of which are in the definition phase as of July 2009.

Projects which are actively being evaluated are:

Open Source for OpenVMS - a community effort to increase the availability and currency of open source applications for OpenVMS

OpenVMS Portal - a centralized, open, OpenVMS Community site providing for a structured presentation of "ALL THINGS OpenVMS", i.e. the place to go for information about OpenVMS

OpenVMS Renaissance Program Management - pulling all the pieces together.
